Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update:

Interim Guidance for Skilled Nursing Facilities COVID-19

The Pennsylvania Department of Health issued a 12 page document called "Interim Guidance for Skilled Nursing Facilities During COVID-19." This document also contains reopening guidance that occurs in a 3 step process. This starts on Section 6 of the document. Please note that we are also following CMS and CDC relevant guidelines.

A Message from Neshaminy Manor

Just a reminder that Neshaminy Manor is in the Step 3 of the Reopening process. We are using the All Purpose/Chapel Room for indoor visitation as this is considered a neutral zone. The indoor visitation allows residents and visitors to not be exposed to the changing weather conditions.

We did start this on Monday, and have made some improvements to the visitation environment since then. Specifically adding some screening to address privacy.  When you enter the building your will be asked to have your temperature taken and sign an attestation form regarding symptoms.  Once that is complete you will enter the Chapel area of the All Purpose Room where visiting tables are set up.  You will be asked to sign that you understand the Rules of Visitation.  All tables, chairs and any equipment used for the visit will be thoroughly sanitized in between each visit.

Now that we have been able to expand our visitation we will be offering Just Talk/Facetime/Zoom visits on Monday and Friday ONLY and these sessions will only be 5 minutes in length.

Please see the SignUpGenius splash page as we added some of the specifics for the visitation so you know what to expect.

Thank you to all that are visiting. It means a lot to our residents!

  • Number of confirmed in-house resident positive cases of Covid-19: 109
  • Patients recovered:109
  • Staff testing positive: 70 of which all 70 have recovered. Zero staff members are currently being followed by the Health Department
  • To date we are sad to report that 51 residents testing positive for Covid-19 have died. That number is not included in the above totals.
  • Of the COVID-positive residents reported above six (6) had already RECOVERED from the virus at the time of their passing
  • There are zero (0) staff and/or residents exhibiting signs/symptoms of respiratory issues in the past 72 hours.
  • Neshaminy Manor is continuing to conduct additional weekly testing of negative residents per the Department of Health Guidance.

Please know that we are doing everything we can to limit the spread of Covid-19 within our facility by:

1. Monitoring all employees and healthcare personnel for symptoms of respiratory illness every day prior to starting their shift;
2. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) (e.g., wearing masks, face shields, eye protection, gowns, gloves)
3. Monitoring for respiratory symptoms and illness in our residents every day.
4. Implementing enhanced cleaning schedules.
5. Developed a cohorting plan of residents according to CDC recommendations in collaboration with the Bucks Count Health Department.
6. In order to keep everyone safe and healthy, we have been instructed to make some room changes to allow us to have a designated unit for residents who test positive for Covid-19. You will be notified if this will affect your loved one.

Neshaminy Manor continues to take aggressive measures to limit the spread of COVID-19, including taking temperatures and monitoring for symptoms three times per day; requiring staff to wear protective items including masks, face shields, eyewear, gowns and gloves; performing enhanced cleaning; and reviewing all new federal guidelines pertaining to this constantly changing pandemic.

Effective 03/10/20, Neshaminy Manor is closed to all visitors due to the COVID-19 virus. This includes all entertainers and groups that come for official events. Visitors will be permitted on an approved individual basis for end of life. In addition, all resident sponsored trips (Walmart/VFW's/etc.) have been suspended at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
