County Facilities/Departments Updates

County-Wide 
  • County government offices are open
    • Please call ahead as some departments are open by appointment only and many departments can handle your business virtually
  • All employees and visitors must wear masks/face coverings and are asked to maintain a six-foot distance.
  • The Department Contact Directory includes phone numbers and descriptions of each department within the county.
Bucks County Court System/Bucks County Justice Center
  • All courts in the Seventh Judicial District (Common Pleas Court and Magisterial District Courts) have resumed normal operations and hours.
  • Courts and Court departments may elect to conduct proceedings via advanced communication technologies.
  • All visitors to the Bucks County Justice Center or any Magisterial District Court office are required to wear a protective face mask or covering, maintain social distancing, and comply with any other Court safety directives.
     
    • There will be no civil jury trials prior to August 3, 2020 and no criminal jury trials prior to September 28, 2020
    • Jurors receiving a jury summons for the August 3 - 14 civil trial term should proceed as directed by the notice.

Correctional Facilities 

Until further notice the following actions are being taken to address the  COVID 19 crisis:

At the advisement of the Bucks County Department of Health, the Bucks County Department of Corrections will be resuming visits on a limited schedule starting Saturday July 4, 2020. Visitation will be on Saturday and Sunday according to the schedule below. All visitors will be required to wear a mask, social distance, and pass a covid screening in the lobby which will include a temperature check per the Department of Health in order to visit. 

  • No Offender will be eligible for a visit during their first 14 days of incarceration.

    Only 2 visitors will be permitted at one time.

    If you are feeling sick or have any symptoms, please stay home.

Court of Common Pleas 
  • There will be no civil jury trials prior to August 3rd; no jurors should report prior to August 3, 2020.
    • Jurors receiving a jury summons for the August 3 - 14 civil trial term should proceed as directed by the notice.
  • There will be no criminal jury trials prior to September 28, 2020.
  • All grand jury proceedings as well as all trials scheduled on or before May 31 are continued and will be rescheduled.
  • All matters scheduled on the criminal and civil trial lists and miscellaneous lists, including arraignments and pretrial hearings are continued until further notice.
  • Orphans' Court, Family Court, Non-Support and Family Masters matters are continued.

Domestic Relations 
  • Click here for multiple options to make support payments.
  • All Domestic Relations establishment conferences and hearings are conducted by telephone. Parties will receive notice in the mail of all scheduled events.
  • BCDRS directs clients to contact the Client Service Unit at 215-340-8068, or email their inquiries to CSBucks@PACSES.com, to have their support questions addressed.  Clients are also encouraged to utilize the Child Support website and Bucks County Domestic Relations website to answer frequently asked questions.
  • BCDRS places Frequently Used Documents on this website for clients to use.  The forms include Defendant Payment Options, Direct Deposit Enrollment Form, Payment Instructions, Unreimbursed Medical Expenses Information Sheet, and Unreimbursed Medical Expenses Summary Form.

Family Masters 
  • At present, the Family Master’s Office will conduct all Custody and Alimony conferences by phone. 
  • Equitable Distribution conferences will be done by A/V means. 
  • Parties and Attys are NOT to attend in person until further notice.

Law Library
  • The Law Library has resumed normal operations.
  • Both the Justice Center and Admin Building locations are open 8:30 am to 5 pm Monday - Friday

Magisterial District Courts 
  • All Traffic, Non-Traffic and Civil hearings scheduled between March 17, 2020 and May 31, 2020 have been continued.
  • All courts in the Seventh Judicial District (Common Pleas Court and Magisterial District Courts) have resumed normal operations and hours.
    • Courts and Court departments may elect to conduct proceedings via advanced communication technologies.
    • All visitors to the Bucks County Justice Center or any Magisterial District Court office are required to wear a protective face mask or covering, maintain social distancing, and comply with any other Court safety directives.
  • All preliminary hearings with non-incarcerated defendants scheduled between March 17, 2020 and May 31,2020 have been continued or held via advanced communication technology if agreed to.
  • All preliminary hearings with incarcerated defendants shall be held via advanced communication technology.
  • Payments encouraged to be made online or by mail.
  • Bail payments encouraged to be made via certified cashier's check.

Neshaminy Manor 
  • Closed to ALL visitors
  • Exceptions may be made for End of Life visits
  • All resident trips cancelled

Parks and Recreation
  • Oxford Valley and Tohickon Valley Pools remain closed until further notice.
  • Visitors should maintain a six-foot distance.
  • Masks are highly recommended.
Prothonotary 
  • Upper Bucks and Lower Bucks Locations closed until further notice
  • No extended Hours
  • For a time certain to file:
  • No Passport applications will be accepted at this time.
  • E-Filing is available and is STRONGLY suggested.
  • Rent payments should be submitted by mail.  Check or Money Order only.
  • Notary Signature Cards can be obtained from the Recorder of Deeds.  For the duration of the emergency, the Prothonotary will accept Signature Cards by mail only.  Please include check or money order for the filing fee of $4.25.

Recorder of Deeds 
  • Recordings are being accepted through the mail and remotely through eRecording.
  • Notaries can also be accepted through the mail at this time:
    • Notaries must get sworn in on their own by another notary or a judge.
    • Paperwork should be mailed to the office with a check made out to BC Recorder of Deeds for $38.50 (recording fee) and it will be recorded and commissions printed.
    • Signature cards will be mailed back (they should then be mailed to the Prothonotary with a check made out to the Bucks County Prothonotary for $4.25.

  • Messages left during business hours will be returned within the hour.

  • Carry Permit applications accepted in Doylestown and Levittown Offices Monday - Friday, 8 am to 4 pm. Call to see if appointment is needed 
  • Governor Wolf has extended the expiration of Carry Permits. If a permit is due to expire after 3/19/20, they will be extended to September 30, 2020.
